Voar Redd Up

Hi Guys

Change of venue for the week-end as the weather is not on our side for paddling.

SUNDAY 18th: Brighter and colder with showers – wintry at times – and falling as snow on higher ground. Fresh or strong NW to N’ly winds, these easing and backing W or SW’ly overnight.
Sea state – Moderate or rough, with a 2 to 4 metre W’ly swell.

Instead we are doing our bit shore side. Bring warm clothing and dress for the cold and poss snowy showers. Do not forget your lunch and anything else you require. Julie will be bringing the bags, gloves etc.  Do not forget cameras so we can take piccies and hopefully get one in the paper and also some for the web site to show our visitors how we clean things up here. They may take the hint and do it south.

We will meet at Beth & Ian’s at 11.00 a.m. . If you are not sure where this is wait by the Scalloway Marina by the college .They are not far from there and if any of us see you we can let you know where to go.

Navigation Training

Anyone interested in doing a coastal navigation course please let Dave
Phillips know. The course will cover the BCU Coastal Navigation and Tidal
Planning syllabus. At the moment there will be no official qualification as
such, however, you will learn about; tides, maps and charts, weather, trip
planning and the use of plotting instruments. The course will be about 8
hours long and on a Saturday. The cost will be £7.50 and this will go to the
overheads of running the course.
