peerie paddle for mri scanner

Claire and her friends at NHS Shetland are going on a sponsored paddle to raise funds for a new MRI scanner for Shetland.

The Shetland MRI Scanner Appeal hopes to raise 2 million so that a MRI Scanner can be located in Shetland which would bring quicker access to diagnostic tests, reduce inconvenience and the need to travel off island. An MRI scan is used to diagnose and monitor a wide variety of conditions and the number of patients who need them is steadily increasing.

Weather-permitting, the plan is to paddle between Bridge End and Scalloway on the morning of 6th April. If the weather is not suitable that day, an alternative will be arranged.
